Individual therapy

I work with adults (ages 18+) across the lifespan. In our 50-55 minute sessions you can expect to experience compassion, presence, trust, and safety. I am open, direct, caring, and collaborative and use these qualities to help you make the meaningful change you desire. The therapy hour is a space and time about you and for you.

Why would I choose to do therapy?

You may choose to commit to individual therapy for many reasons. For some, it is to process a life change or loss, for others it might be to learn how to manage anxiety that manifests as self-critical or negative thoughts, or to reduce stress and cultivate resiliency. There are many reasons to attend therapy. Therapy can also be a space to develop positive qualities like peace and joy and to commit to implementing healthier life choices.

Therapy can address many concerns, including but not limited to stress, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, adjustment concerns (like navigating personality traits such as HSP), ADHD and neurodiversity, grief/loss, depression, spirituality, work issues, relationship challenges, developing new habits, identity concerns, self-image, and personal growth.

Therapeutic approaches include:

  • Mindfulness-based psychotherapy combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness strategies to help individuals better understand and manage their thoughts and emotions to achieve relief from feelings of distress and suffering. Mindfulness strategies include noting thoughts and feelings, visualizations, meditations, and grounding exercises. Mindful self-compassion is included here as the process of combining the skills developed through mindfulness with the emotional practice of self-compassion to support emotional development.

  • Compassion-focused therapy integrates attachment, developmental psychology, and affective neuroscience to alleviate suffering and increase contentment and connection. Using CFT tools we can learn to increase our sense of kindness and compassion for self and others.

  • Internal family systems is a beautiful approach to therapy that incorporates all of our parts. IFS helps us examine parts that keep us stuck and develop an ongoing relationship with ourselves.

  • Other therapeutic modalities I frequently use included solution-focused techniques, somatic-based interventions for nervous system regulation, existential therapy, and mind-body modalities.

Rates

$165 - Individual counseling session

Individual therapy sessions are approximately 50-55 minutes. Individual sessions are offered in-person to those in and around Bozeman, MT and online to residents of Montana and Washington State.

Free - Initial phone consultation

Finding a therapist who you believe is a good fit is important to the success of therapy. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation for us to meet, get your questions answered, and discuss logistics before scheduling an initial session. Please contact me via phone or email.

Documentation of services (i.e. a “superbill”) is also offered for you to submit to your insurance company. If you receive out-of-network benefits your insurance company may reimburse a portion of the full-fee rate and/or the cost of services may apply towards your deductible.

Please note, it is your responsibility to confirm your insurance benefits and/or confirm that your insurance company offers reimbursement for out-of-network providers.
